

Paulina Skavova
Bio
Paulina Skavova (1976) is a Czech sculptor, scenographer, and conceptual artist. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague at the studio of Professor Karel Nepraš, where she received the AVU Studio Award in 2001 and the Jana Rybářová Award by Italian foundation Europea Margherita in 2002. She completed her studies at the studio of intermedia art of Professor Milan Knížák. After graduating, Skavova was awarded a scholarship from the Swiss government, and she went on to do postgraduate studies at the Lucerne School of Art and Design.

Paulina Skavova is known for her art projects in public space in the Czech Republic and abroad, for instance, she is the author of the bronze statue of Frank Sidebottom in Manchester and the memorial plaque of Czech actor Radovan Lukavský in Prague. Paulina also collaborates with film and theater productions on set design, costumes, and props. Between 2010 and 2020, she worked as a curator of exhibitions at the UFFO Social Center in Trutnov. Currently, Paulina works for the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery in the field of public relations.
